I'm 30

Well, 30 at last. My friend Lacey swears that 30 is the new 20.
If she's lying...well all I can say is it's not going to be pretty!
30 was a weird day. I thought it was going to be bad or
depressing. It wasn't! Do you see the cake in the picture?
One of the greatest girls I've ever had the privelege of knowing
made that cake for ME! To top it off she bought this fabulous
white cake stand for me that I've been dying to have and
delivered cake and all to my house!!!! She didn't stop there...
She coordinated this whole "Why we like January" e-mail
from all my friends including my sis and it really made my day.
As vain as this may be I really want to share
a couple because they just crack me up!!!:
  • You might see her out one day looking like she got
straight out of bed, then the next day she's wearing sequins!
  • When in danger...she has a gun and bullets
  • She dances like no one i've ever seen ;) ...really
FYI - That last one is NOT a compliment! ;)
Then my family of course came bearing gifts and hugs and
it was really just perfect! I love my family and friends!
and now I can use my favorite line from "Thirteen going on Thirty"
I'm "30, Flirty, and Thriving"!

Toilet paper on a roll is so 2009...

This is what happens when you have to take care of something urgent and you leave your 14 month old to play by himself...This is only the tip of the iceberg of what he did to the house...It's funny to think something that small can wreak havoc on such a large area. He's sooooo stinkin' cute though...What could I do?

Breathing

I really don't have much to say. I was about to reprimand the "Life of J" for not posting and realized it had been a while since I shared a thought.

A lot has happened in 2 months...and then, it seems like it's all happened before...

I won't lie; I'm frustrated. I should never type past 10 pm...I'm way to emotional and transparent...

I'll keep it brief. I want a vision for our life...I want to do, to be, to go, give, impact, share, affect, live, see, absorb, contribute, alter, succeed...

Is that to much to ask?

Currently, I breathe...

p.s. I don't know what happened to my hair...What is that part all about? Seriously, why can't I get the same haircut everytime? I like the hair in my profile pic...why can't I keep that hair?

On a somber note...

I have 20 million things to do before the sun rises in the morning, but I just felt such a burden to type this post.

In the hospital, with no prior warning, no less than 6 nurses & doctors came to our room to convince us to give the HepB vaccine to our 1 day old son. I was an emotional crazy person and had no idea we would be asked to make that kind of choice. Along with each visit, the nurse or doctor brought with him a paper about the horrible things that could happen if Jonas contracted HepB while in the hospital...I asked several times about the necessity of this vaccine and each time was strongly "encouraged" to give it to him...Against my better judgement and because I was ignorant on the subject I signed the consent form. Here is a short article about recent findings regarding this vaccine:

Hepatitis B Vaccine Triples the Risk of Autism in Infant Boys
Posted by: Dr. Mercola October 08 2009 22,948 views
A new study has shown that giving Hepatitis B vaccine to newborn baby boys more than triples their risk of developing an autism spectrum disorder.
The study’s authors used U.S. probability samples obtained from National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) 1997–2002 datasets. The conclusion states that: “Findings suggest that U.S. male neonates vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine had a 3-fold greater risk of ASD.” The authors also noted that an earlier study by them found that hepatitis B vaccination was associated with receipt of early intervention and special education services. The new study used a different database than their earlier study, and they found same results, suggesting a validation of their findings.

I hate that I didn't know

I hate that I didn't know that I needed to know

I hate that I signed that form against my own instinct

I hate that I will worry about this for a long time

I hate that I will constantly struggle with trusting God with this
and blaming myself for being so ignorant.
